This is a girl not caring as she holds a baby with her own face on it. In the background, I used vegetable oil from my school's cafeteria and poured it down the top to represent drool having dripped down from a baby's mouth. This piece was done in charcoal and prisma colored pencil. Original: sold Prints: $35 22.5" x 17.1"
This is my friend Brian pouring himself out of a paint bottle, a bit confused about the situation. This is on cardboard and despite the piece being about paint, the background is actually all colored pencil. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil and fine tip black sharpie. Original: sold Prints: $30 25.7" x 21.6"
This is my friend Anthie on a piece of deteriorating cardboard that looks to be eaten up by the lady bug she is holding. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil. Original: sold Prints: $35 24" x 16"
This is one of my favorite teachers of all time. She is here holding a kid's beanie baby of a duck on cardboard. The background is made with blue paint that I fingerpainted on to represent the child's free mind and spirit. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil, pen, and acrylic. Original: sold Prints: $40 21.4" x 16"
This is a girl from the art class next door named Fallon. I actually soaked the cardboard in water for two school periods to get that water damaged look to it. She's creeped out about having to feed herself as a fish, and yes, that is real fish food on there. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil and black fine tip sharpie. Original: $45 Prints: $30 30" x 22.5"
This piece is of my dad and brother. As you can see, my dad is not to happy about the fact that he's going to be caring for himself in this way. My dad works on race cars, and that is why in the background, I actually spread dirt on a tire and had my teacher run over it with her car. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil. Original: sold Prints: $30 31.1" x 18.7"
This is actually a self portrait of me as a unicorn. While my face may seem very happy and cheerful, the deterioration in the cardboard is representing the actual stress I feel inside about trying to support myself. This piece was done with prisma colored pencil, gold metallic marker, and pen. Original: $35 Prints: $30 25.9" x 22"
This is one of my first pieces that actually won an award in the Phoenix Village Art Center for "Best Surrealism." The cardboard in the back and sides are made to look like the rat had bit and chewed on it. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil and black marker. Original: sold Prints: $50 26.4" x 18.7"
This is my English teacher as a cat. At this point, she seems extremely upset about having to try and care for herself. For the background, I used a corn skewer to make claw marks as if a cat had gotten to it. My boyfriend's cats were just not cooperative enough for them to actually scratch it. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil and pen. Original: $40 Prints: $35 29.3" x 18.2"
This is a drawing of my friend Carley holding herself as a lamp. She looks really uncomfortable about this and is definitely not ready to do this. For the background I used a heat gun and set the cardboard on fire, stomping it out the best I could before it ruined my piece. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil. Original: $40 Prints: $35 21" x 19.7"
This is my final piece in my concentrated area, and it is of my friend Meggo. She has finally dropped herself and is too stressed to be able to deal with it. She has lost most of her color and is too paralyzed with fear to do anything. For the background, I used dirt around the edges to symbolize the dirt from the cactus spilling everywhere. This piece was done in prisma colored pencil and fine tip black sharpie. Original: sold Prints: $35 35.7" x 28"
This is a piece I did of my Poppop and I. I hate using acrylic paint, but I decided to try it. This is acrylic paint on paper bags that I had arranged in a way that I liked. As you can see, in each different paper bag, there is a different color represented and in each section, there is also a color seeping in from another section. Original: not for sale Prints: $35 14" x 12.9"
